Sharp Reinforces Overseas Mobile Phone Business via Corporate Reorganization

Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp recently announced a reorganization of its corporate structure and introduced the establishment of Mobile Business Group in Yamatokoriyama, Nara Prefecture, aiming to boost its overseas mobile phone business, according to a Nikkei report. Sharp's Mobile Business Group also houses a New Business Promotion Center and Wireless Convergence Promotion Center. Earlier in August, Sharp President voiced the company's expectation to raise its mobile phone sales in China, Europe, and the United States up to the same level as its sales performance in the Japanese market.
Along with the Mobile Business Group, Sharp also created a Special Model Sales and Marketing Group in charge of the company's solar cell system, LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting product, and information display businesses targeting the corporate market. The Special Model Sales and Marketing Group is based in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo.
